On the dotplex servers, we have installed the SpamAssassin software for filtering unwanted advertising emails along with the ClamAV virus scanner. Incoming emails are checked according to various criteria such as sender data and content to determine whether they are likely to be spam. The attachments are scanned for viruses.

Data protection

The content check is fully automated. Nobody from dotplex will ever read your emails.

What happens to spam mails?

There is no spam folder at dotplex. If an email is recognised as spam, it will be immediately rejected by the mail server. If it is a legitimate email that has been incorrectly categorised as spam, the sender will receive a bounce message from their own mail server. This prevents mails from getting ‘lost’ in the spam folder. Most users rarely or never check their spam folder.

Mails incorrectly recognised as spam

No spam filter works 100% error-free. Just as the occasional spam mail gets through the filter, legitimate mails (ham) are occasionally categorised as spam. If you are made aware of this, please send the mail headers (you can delete the mail content) to dotplex Postmaster. We will then add the sender address to our internal whitelist if necessary.
